An outdoor kid, I was described in elementary school. I always wandered in the nature, built tree houses and caught frogs. Especially on the the floodplains of the river IJssel. Its a dynamic wetland area with woods and reed. It always had an attraction on me. Sometimes I came home soaking wet after an afternoon playing outside.
The interest in nature has always been present. The actual step to photographing took a while. It only started to develop in a distant vacation. I was constantly wondering how I could capture my surroundings in a picture. First with a pocket camera. But soon I learned the limitations of this camera. Gradually I started to interest me in the technical side of photography, and I spent my life savings with it.
These days I'm still out on the floodplains to shoot the most beautiful
landscapes. Coming home soaking wet still occurs some times.
